Midtown Toronto's skyline is now one tower stronger as Art Shoppe Condos closes in on its final 28-storey-height south of the Yonge and Eglinton intersection. The 12- and 28-storey architectsAlliance-designed condominium complex from Freed Developments and Capital Developments has been active since late 2015, when its namesake furniture store was demolished to make way for the new project.

Construction began the following June with the start of shoring, and three years later, Art Shoppe Condos stands just shy of its final 99-metre height above Yonge Street. Some of the milestones reached along the way include the completion of excavation and the installation of two tower cranes in early 2017, as well as the completion of underground forming and the first above progress in August 2017.

Installation of the building's exterior finishes has been progressing quickly since the first finishes were applied in July 2018. Less than a year later, the project's exterior statement is living up to its renderings with a series of projecting white concrete boxes framing balconies, set against a main building envelope of window wall cladding with reflective glazing.

With exterior finishes now reaching up to the 20th floor, work is progressing on finishing the suite interiors for these newly-enclosed levels. Once complete, the building will add over 650 condominium units to one of Toronto's fastest intensifying neighbourhoods.
