Not just another tower is entering the final stages of construction at Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton in Mississauga. The 19-storey, Kirkor Architects-designed Arc at Erin Mills, part of The Daniels Corporation's Erin Mills community, has been under construction since the end of 2016, and work on the community's new architectural centrepiece is expected to wrap up this year.

At the time of our last update back in December, installation of the main window wall building envelope—consisting of reflective glazing, dark grey mullions, and dark grey spandrel panels—was nearing completion. In the months since, much of the remaining window wall finishes have been installed, enclosing the building and allowing interior finishing to progress.

Balcony railing installation has progressed noticeably since our last update, when a mix of white perforated metal and clear glazing reached as high as the 13th-floor balconies. Now installed on all but the uppermost residential floor, the alternating metal and glass sections form an undulating pattern that contrasts against the dark window wall finishes, and accents the tower's unique curving massing. The lower levels are being clad in a curtainwall glazing system, installation of which is now practically complete.

Arc's organic form is setting the standard for the next phases of the Erin Mills community, set to rise kitty corner on the northeast side of the Erin Mills and Eglinton intersection. Like Arc, the three new towers will feature a design by Kirkor Architects, incorporating a mix of curves and rectilinear lines that bridge the architectural styles of existing phases.
