Just over seven weeks ago, we covered the ongoing structural forming at Tridel and HinesAqualina at Bayside, part of the emerging East Bayfront community lining Queen's Quay Boulevard East. Since then, the 13-storey Arquitectonica-designed condominium development's north volume has begun to take shape, forming the final part of building's concrete superstructure.

At the time of our last update, the installation of dark, reflective window wall panels framed by charcoal-black mullions in a sawtooth pattern rose to the third floor of the building. In the weeks since, three additinoal levels of cladding have been installed, giving fuller insight into the development's completed aesthetic. Meanwhile, the installation of balcony glazing will soon add another element to the exterior on this lower volume.

The images above also highlight large steel supports, easily identifiable by their rust-like colour. Aqualina's structural elements will all be covered in a white precast concrete over the coming months. These supports are currently most prominent along the south side of the building, fronting the neighbourhood's waterfront promenade.

The cube at the south end is currently being clad in curtain wall glazing manufactured by Toro Glasswall. This high quality cladding material will create a sense of continuity with the similar form of the George Brown Waterfront Campus on the opposite side of Sherbourne Common.

Aqualina will add 362 units to the area, with sizes ranging from 548 ft² up to 2,100 ft². Residents will have access to a selection of interior amenities appointed by II BY IV Design Associates, as well as outdoor amenity spaces on levels 11 and 13, and a two-storey sheltered walkway running through the base of the building called Via Velo, featuring retail space.
