Capitalizing on both the growing demand for housing in proximity to rapid transit and a recent push for mid-rise developments along Toronto's arterials, several medium-density projects have been proposed along Danforth Avenue in recent years. Among the latest to be marketed is Canvas Condominium for which registrations are now being taken. The eight-storey Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed building by Marlin Spring Developments is to be built on the south side of Danforth east of Woodbine Avenue, a short walking distance to the subway.

The project is offering 170 one and two-bedroom suites, with sizes ranging from 431 to 961 ft2, and prices starting in the mid-$200s. Residents of the development will have access to a collection of common and amenity spaces, featuring interiors appointed by designers U31.

U31 is employing neutral tones with accents of candy apple red throughout the amenity spaces including the lobby (above) where natural materials and finishes emphasize luxury. A U31-designed fitness centre (below) will provide residents with weights, cardio equipment, and weight resistance equipment, as well as a yoga area. The decor for this space follows the same aesthetic, but with more subdued textures.

Canvas' party room—offering ample seating and a fireplace—will be situated atop the development, giving residents of all levels access to views of the surrounding neighbourhood and the Toronto skyline. The space dials up the sophisticated aesthetic with a more dynamic design.

An outdoor rooftop terrace will provide extensive views with amenities including a bocce ball court, sunbathing space, communal dining tables, barbecue areas, and an outdoor fireplace.
