Following crane removal in April, work to complete Plaza's Musée Condos has been making steady progress in Toronto's King West neighbourhood. With cladding now all but finished on the 17-storey Quadrangle Architects-designed condominium development, (balcony glazing installation continues), the bulk of site activity has shifted towards the fitting out the building's interior spaces.

Along with neighbouring oneeleven Condominiums, the two projects are transforming what was once surface parking and obsolete warehouses at Adelaide and Bathurst Streets with a tremendous boost of residential density, to be amplified by new street-fronting retail. Musée also comes with a generous addition to the public realm in the form of an 8,000 square foot park.

The future park (seen above) is currently being used by crews as a staging area for construction materials and equipment, and is also the site of the exterior hoist. When it is no longer needed, the site will be ready for build-out of the park.

At the southeast corner of the Musée property, the park will be accessible via quiet Adelaide Place on its east side, or via an open-air galleria cutting through the building to connect with Adelaide Street. The galleria is still in a relatively unfinished form, though windows and design features like sculptural support columns are already quite apparent to passersby.

Musée's Adelaide Street ground level retail frontage has recently had its glazing installed, promising new pedestrian life on this block of the one-way downtown road and cycling corridor.
