It has been almost one year since the demolition of 3 detached and 8 semi-detached houses marked the start of work at Freed Developments and CD Capital's 155 Redpath, a 34-storey, architectsAlliance-designed condominium tower under construction on Redpath Avenue, just north of Eglinton Avenue East. Since the start of work in January 2015, the building's three-storey underground parking garage levels have been almost fully formed, while forming work on the building's ground floor has commenced.
The image above reveals that floor forms are now in place for the east side of the building's ground floor, while work proceeds on the P1 level at the west end of the site. Once the ground floor has been poured, the next step in this tower's construction will be the forming of the six-storey podium, above which an additional 28 tower floors will rise.
155 Redpath will be followed up by a second phase, 150 Redpath Condominiums, set to rise 38-storeys high across Redpath Avenue to the west. The site of 150 Redpath is currently occupied by 2-storey single detached and semi-detached dwellings, as well as a surface parking lot, all of which were fenced off with branded hoarding earlier this year.
Together, the two buildings would be prominent on the neighbourhood skyline, while adding around 1,000 residential units to the increasingly dense Yonge and Eglinton neighbourhood.
