On Howard Park Avenue at Dundas in the hip and trendy Roncevalles neighbourhood, late-stage construction is progressing at Triumph Developments' Howard Park Residences, an 8-storey condominium development created by the architects at RAW Design. Upon completion, the distinctive wedge-shaped building is bringing 81 condominium units to the area, replacing a former scrap metal/auto garage with new residential density.
Howard Park Residences marked a major milestone several months ago, having topped off in late 2014. When we last visited the site in March of this year, the building had reached yet another milestone with the removal of the crane. In the time since, the temporary hoist used to carry personnel and machinery up and down the building has been removed, and the cladding has sealed off the structure from the elements.
With much of the exterior work on Howard Park's first phase now complete, activity in the once-busy staging area surrounding the building's ground floor has slowed considerably, allowing work to proceed on the cladding of the first level.
The under-construction first phase will be followed by a second phase offering 96 units, which is to be built to the immediate west. The second phase will follow the design cues of its sibling, including the continuation of the greenery-covered stepped cubes featured atop the first phase. The second phase will also act as the western bookend to a courtyard terrace between the two phases, accessible to residents of both buildings. In addition, residents of the two phases will enjoy amenities like a fitness and yoga studio, party room, lounging area, and executive concierge services.
