The transformative redevelopment of Toronto's harbourside lands, or "blue edge" in Waterfront Toronto parlance, continues with Tridel and HinesAquavista at Bayside. The 12-storey, Arquitectonica-designed development, currently in its marketing phase, is the second condominium development for the Bayside community south of Queens Quay and east of Lower Sherbourne, which will contain residential, office, retail, and public spaces, including an extension of the popular granite-paved Waterfront Promenade.

The project offers one-bedroom suites starting from from $370,000, signature suites from $955,000, and the ultimate, two-storey penthouses from $2.4 million. The U-shaped massing of the development allows lake views from most suites, while residents with eastern exposure will face Aitken Place Park, a new public space set to become the heart of the Bayside community.

Aitken Place Park is being envisioned by Waterfront Toronto as a central neighbourhood amenity for residents of the Bayside neighbourhood. Preliminary plans for the City-owned and operated, .75 acre park to include a children’s play area and a multi-use lawn area for passive recreational uses and neighbourhood events, with types of programming to be determined in a consultation process with the public and stakeholders, scheduled to start this Spring.

To be designed by Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc. and Thomas Balsley Associates, the park will be accessible from Queens Quay to the north, and from Merchants' Wharf on the south. The design for this community space will be put before the Waterfront Design Review Panel for feedback before construction commences, expected for Spring of 2016. Completion of the park is currently slated for the Summer of 2017.

In addition to unique perks of living in this new neighbourhood by the lake, the park, and the waterfront promenade, residents of Aquavista will enjoy amenities like a game room, gym, movie room, party room, roof deck, sauna, and a swimming pool.
