In the few months since we last caught up with Aspen Ridge HomesStudio on Richmond, there has been plenty of progress to report on about the Quadrangle Architects-designed development in Toronto's Entertainment District. Studio, the shorter 31-storey, 328 foot first phase in the northeast corner of the development, has been topped off since late last year and cladding has almost entirely sealed off that tower from the elements.

Studio2, at the southwest corner of the site at Duncan and Nelson Streets, now rises 24 storeys into the air, over half way towards its final height. It will be 41 storeys and 425 feet tall once topped-off this Summer.

The height of the podium at Studio on Richmond was set to match the height of most of the heritage warehouse buildings on the surrounding streets, as can be seen in the images above and below. Precast cladding has now being applied to the bulk of the podium, with the windows and balcony door installations following closely behind.

Once construction of the development has wrapped up, Studio and Studio2 will have added 762 new residential units to Toronto's Entertainment District, an area which has been subject to tremendous intensification in recent years. Studio and Studio2 will also include retail space at ground level, plus new gallery space for OCAD University. Residents of the development will enjoy amenity spaces appointed by Mike Niven Interior Design, including an entire amenity level on the 9th floor of the first phase.
