The playoff hopes of Toronto hockey fans are dwindling, but looking back on an exciting (and ultimately disappointing) run last Spring, we saw the first real test for the relatively new public plaza at Maple Leaf Square. While the odds of the Leafs making the playoffs this year are low, Maple Leaf Square and the Air Canada Centre will still see excited crowds this Spring thanks to the Toronto Raptors, who recently clinched a spot in the NBA playoffs. As was the case with the Leafs last year, the Raptors have not competed in the playoffs since before the completion of the Maple Leaf Square complex and public square. Today's Photo of the Day comes to us from 'Empty Quarter', who submitted this shot on the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool of an empty Maple Leaf Square at night, with the construction site for the new Union Station train shed in the background.
