Today's photo of the day is taken along the Toronto waterfront during the 6 AM sunrise. Located near Ontario Place, a Toronto inukshuk stands tall with the Toronto skyline in the background. This unique landmark can be found on the Lake Shore Blvd recreational path — The Martin Goodman Trail. The inukshuk was installed over ten years ago on July 23rd, World Youth Day, 2002. The dedication plate on site reads:
World Youth Day has been a true navigational guide for millions of young people throughout the world. The Toronto Inukshuk invites each one of us to become beacons of light and hope, striving for justice and peace in this world. This Toronto Inukshuk legacy, co-chaired by Mr. Tony Dionisio and Councillor Joe Pantalone, is a reminder of the immense, wonderful gathering of young people and His Holiness Pope John Paul II held in Toronto during World Youth Day, July 23-28, 2002
