Urban, sophisticated, contemporary, clean, minimal yet comfortable - these are all adjectives used by Interior Designer Bryon Patton to describe the design vision his company is executing at The Berwick Condos at Yonge and Eglinton.
According to Bryon, the big interior trend for 2013 is an uncluttered modern aesthetic. The trend is for furniture to be extremely functional with scaled down proportions. The colours are neutral with grey continuing to be a big favourite for 2013. The greys this year are a much warmer tone rather than being icy cool.
The colour schemes used by Bryon’s team for The Berwick combine rich materials in a restrained palette of metallic grey, charbrown and silver taupe. The team placed emphasis on texture rather than colour. For example, the floors are large-scaled stainless metallic porcelain. The fireplace is clad in Cippolino marble which has strong horizontal bands of cream.
While designing the interiors, the team led by Ruth Lynch as the team designer, wanted to appeal to many demographics; young professionals, couples, singles as well as empty nesters looking to take advantage of the carefree lifestyle that comes with condo living.
Three colour package choices were designed providing well co-ordinated options for purchasers. This made the colour selection process easy for purchasers without having to worry about potentially choosing the wrong colour combinations for their suite.
Yonge and Eglinton has been experiencing a major rebirth in condos in the past couple of years. The Berwick is conveniently located a block from the Eglinton Subway Station, where just outside, the city is bustling. The idea is for a retreat from the bustle for the interiors: combine beautiful neutral materials with a tranquil colour palette to create a peaceful and serene setting inside.
