Captured by Forum member yonderbean, this evening shot of the central business district shows the end result of the recladding of First Canadian Place. Having replaced the original marble cladding of the tower, the new glass spandrel panels restores the building facade to the brilliant white its original architectural team intended. Unlike the thin porous marble panels that formerly encased the tower, the new vitreous cladding is impervious to the elements, a quality that will ensure that the landmark structure will retain its lustre for decades to come.
Work of the rejuvenation of Brookfield's 72-storey First Canadian Place was undertaken by Moed de Armas & Shannon and B+H Architects. With only finishing touches remaining, work on the project will conclude within the year.
