Rising as the land around it descends to meet the Don River, Scenic on Eglinton is the first of what will surely be a wave of intensification as the Eglinton-Crosstown LRT pushes its way eastwards. Captured by Forum member cruzin4u, this photo shows the first two phases topping out at 18 and 14 storeys. In a market where the names of condo projects draw little if any of their inspiration from their respective environments, Scenic on Eglinton is a rare exception. With expansive views of the lush Don Valley to the east and south, the condos do indeed offer beautiful views of one of the city's most prominent green spaces. Designed by the prolific firm of Page + Steele, the undulating form of the buildings is a nod to this environment, mimicking the course of the river below. To many in the Forum, this departure from the ubiquitous box is a welcome change.
