Lifetime Developments and CentreCourt Developments are teaming up to bring a sleek Peter Clewes-designed condominium tower to Grenville Street, half a block from where College and Carlton Streets meet at Yonge. Dubbed Karma Condos, the building will feature a podium containing retail at its base, fitness facilities overlooking Grenville on the second floor, and entertainment and relaxation related amenities on its third floor and podium rooftop. A heritage home on the site will be moved to the east side of the lot, where St. Lukes Lane runs north-south.
The building will feature quite a number of amenities to keep both body and spirit energized, and all designed by the renowned team at Cecconi Simone Interior Design. Second floor fitness facilities include cardio equipment, weight rooms, a yoga studio, and spa-like changerooms featuring his and hers steam rooms. Above the fitness facitlties, but pictured below, are the third floor's spaces, both indoor and outdoor, to relax and have fun. This room is the Players Club, and it features a pub-like bar with felted poker table, a billiards table, and table tennis. It overlooks 'Rest', an outdoor terrace equipped with barbeques, lounge spaces, and canopy seating.
There are many other amenities to enjoy as well. 'The Social' is a party room with a bar, a projection screen, a modern fireplace, and private dining room with a serving area. Close by are a screening room, a sound room - which may be unique - and 'Station K', a gaming room. We will look forward to learnign more about the amenities.
The tower has been approved at 46 storeys by the City, while the developers are seeking to build 52 storeys at the Ontario Municipal Board. We will keep you update you on the OMB decision when it comes down.
