The Daniels Corporation is preparing to bring a new condominium (tentatively called Daniels At High Park Condo by us) to market on Bloor Street West across from High Park. Before coming into Daniels' hands, the site languished for years with boarded up homes while properties were assembled by WJ Properties, a local landlord of rental apartment buildings. With a handsome Diamond + Schmitt Architects design in hand however, Daniels is now driving the project through the planning process, and we have early renderings.

This plan - not yet approved by the City - contains 364 units. Wings fronting on Bloor start at 7 storeys, gradually terracing to 13 storeys at the back. Commercial units will front Bloor Street. Below we focus on the courtyard, and then the entry area.

The building is proceeding through the planning process. A preliminary report will be submitted to Etobicoke Community Council on March 22nd. Assuming approval, a community consultation will take place in April. UrbanToronto will keep tabs on this handsome project.

The existing buildings on the site have been boarded up for years now, many of which were very fine homes indeed. The first view below is of some of the structures on Bloor, the second shows some of those on Oakmount. All are slated for demolition for this project.
