What's wrong with FreeRepublic.com?

People might not be banned for dissenting, but dissenters do seem to be more likely to be banned.
 
They tend to make asses of themselves or be trolls. Are Be was a tough one, I think. He was a major troll, but at least he stimulated interesting discussions.

What's to stop an online mass of anonymous but connected people from suddenly turning into a mean mob, just like masses of people have time and time again in the history of every human culture? It's amazing that details in the design of online software can bring out such varied potentials in human behavior. It's time to think about that power on a moral basis.

Glenn Greenwald's blog is the first place I go every morning.

I'm actually a little ashamed that I am far more versed in what is going on in American politics than Canadian politics.
