This is driving my girlfriend and me crazy. In a google age, mostly anything can be found out.. but not knowing what to search defeats that new millennium advantage.

What are those screens??

They should have just plugged a chip into Bushy's head.

it's not that easy. one would have to figure out the difference between his head and his a$$ in order to do that, an impossible feat.

I thought that but then we looked and they're transparent, you don't see any words on them.

The audience isn't supposed to see the front of them, the presenter is, and he can see the words reflected in the screen from the monitor below....like all teleprompters.

a transparent mirror. his side reflective, the other side, see-through.

For camera prompters it's a 30% reflective, front surface mirror.

so one can somewhat see through it & be seen through it.

Every newscast you see is shot through a prompter.

In the old days, when CRT's were used, they just reversed the connections on the yoke to reverse the image. Now, prompters come with LCD panels, some requiring DSP's to reverse the image...not easily replaceable.
