Waterfront Toronto considers selling naming rights

Please don't criticize Waterfront Toronto for this idea, they need more money for studies and consultants.

Chicago's waterfront has some famous buildings named after "corporate sponsors", though it may not be obvious at first... Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium. Another nice Chicago example of a building with a historic "corporate name" attached to it is Wrigley Field, a name that many baseball fans are trying to preserve.

The equivalent of those in Toronto would be Massey Hall or the O'Keefe Centre. The O'Keefe Centre pre-dates modern naming rights - the O'Keefe corporation funded the place from the start.

The Leafs should be renamed as the CIBC Leafs to reflect their successes lately.
