Some of Toronto's shopping malls have gotten notable facelifts over the years. I'm wondering if anyone has any vintage photos of such North Toronto malls as Fairview, Promenade, Bayview Village and Centrepoint/Town&Country. Even Fairview was renovated only two or three years ago to move the food court among other things and I can't find a single photo online (barely any photos of it online period).

Cheers.

There are some photos in the Toronto Archives - here's a link to get started of malls in Etobicoke:
http://www.toronto.ca/archives/etobicoke_shopping_malls.htm

And I'd love to add more to my Yorkdale page, especially of the ceiling outside Simpsons (now the Bay) and the 2nd level of Eatons... but all I have is this 1965 picture:

(There are some old British video's too... but I didn't geotag them! )

Vintage Eaton's

I loved the Eatons and Simpsons stores back in those days.

This is my fovorite shot of Eaton's when it was at the Don Mills Plaza - c.1960s-70s

Canada Day Boarder

Another Eaton's shot - this one at the Scarborough Town Centre, Canada Day 1996.

This and previous post are from my "Man Alone" series.

The Hudson's Bay Company Archives may have vintage photos of Simpsons and The Bay locations in Toronto. They have a descriptive database available on their website: http://pam.minisisinc.com/pam/search.htm but photos from more recent dates such as the 70s and 80s may not be described there yet. If you have no luck with the database, try a "research from a distance request" by phone or email (they're in Winnipeg): http://www.gov.mb.ca/chc/archives/research.html It might take a little while to get a response but they have a huge collection of great photographs definitely worth checking into.

Man Alone

More of the Man Alone please. They are really neat.

Thanks for asking - here's a few.
I really should find a different site for some others because they're not all Toronto scenes.
