New Brunswick has spent an outrageously large amount of money on highways for such a small population. A railway would need to be very fast to be competitive against the bus, let alone private cars. It's safe to say the Province has zero interest in passenger rail.Ideally Quebec and New Brunswick would acquire their respective stretch of the Ocean trackages as their contribution to a service which is more than a slow . But Quebec has already spent quite a bit on the Gaspe rebuild and New Brunswick seems to have little interest other than to say that Ottawa should pay for all things interprovincial passenger rail.
