TTC Website Redesign

Sorry, to direct the appalling comment, was the fact that they launched the site with no system map to come back with the exact same method of delivering it (PDF). I would have hoped they would have implemented something similar to the Google Maps/TTC Map mashup

thanks 299. they used to have an accessible full system map and i can't find it anywhere. so far, the new website is making the experience harder.

The new map is slightly larger because they rasterized the street network in the background, but loads faster. The old map had the street lines in a few thousand vector lines, which made it really slow to render/load, despite being smaller.

Sheesh, everyone knows a decent web site needs an animated email gif

And of course, to show some national pride

  • * Both the old and new have rasterized street networks
    * Neither have vectors

The old is available still (for now) at:

The new is at:

Another change to the TTC Website. Commission Meetings has been altered. It is now indexed by year, just 2009 for now. Goes to an index by meeting date, ie. April 3, 2009, where there is a further breakdown by Agenda and Reports and a separate link for the Minutes. The Agenda and Reports page lists each report that is accessible.
