Have you ever used or saw someone use the emergency equipment on the TTC.

What brought this up is this article on the emergency brake from Second Ave. Sagas.

On the New York Subway they have an emergency brake, along with a notice saying "don't use the emergency brake".

I've pressed the Passenger Assistance Alarm strip while on the subway once. It was after a man had tripped and bashed his head into one of those plexiglas "decency panels" by the subway doors. One will hear (throughout the car, at least; I don't know about the rest of the train with the exception of the cabs) that the alarm was activated, but the train keeps on rolling till the next stop. The man seemed to be fine; he and his female companion got out at Christie station and waited for more help.

TTC subway trains also have an emergency brake. If I recall correctly, it says not to use it in the tunnels. That makes sense, because if there's an emergency in the train, the last thing you want to happen is to be stuck in a tunnel!
