Finally a little bit of common sense hit the TTC in the head, it would've been a disaster to keep having the 504 diverting at Spadina. Unfortunately it comes at a cost of less service for those on King St between Shaw and Bathurst but it's a price that may very well be worth it.TTC adjusting 504 King streetcar routing to improve service
May 16,2025
To ensure the TTC is providing the best service possible during the King/Church intersection closure, a small adjustment to the 504 King streetcar diversionary routing is being made effective today (May 16).
The 504 King streetcar will now divert both ways via Shaw St. instead of Spadina Ave. on the western portion of the diversion. This will relieve some of the congestion associated with left turns in the central downtown area.
The 503 Kingston Rd. streetcar will continue to divert via Spadina and Queen, running west on King St. to Dufferin Loop. All other service changes made last weekend remain as is for now.
However, as with all large-scale diversions, the TTC continues to monitor traffic conditions and service performance in real time and could make further changes as needed.
Updates to signage and stop pole notices along the route will be made in the coming few days as the materials need to be printed and installed.
Immediate changes will be reflected at https://www.ttc.ca/riding-the-ttc/U...304-King-and-508-Lake-Shore-streetcar-service
Now let's see how long it takes for the TTC to update the website and route map diversion...
