TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

According to Andy Byford, at last night's TTC virtual town hall, there are 25 Flexities on property and #26 was shipped yesterday morning from Thunder Bay.

3 on 509 today plus 4416 westbound on QQ and then north on 511 as a training car. Rode 4426 today as well.

There were 2 training cars CLRV on 511 going to Fleet Loop. One of those training car ended up in front of my Flexity heading eastbound on QQ.

Something has left the factory, but latest info says it's still in Thunder Bay yards.

4402 will be the next car to arrive this coming week

Unless there is a major upgrading in the next 4 weeks, we will not see the promises 30 cars this year.

TTC 4402 was switched out of the Bombardier plant,

Maybe we'll get two more by the end of the year, apart from 4402. Didn't I read somewhere that Bombardier will have two Flexity production lines up and running in early 2017?

The City sent out flyers in our neighbourhood today indicating that the bridge on the Queensway over the Humber river will be rebuilt between March and December of next year. That means no 501 service west of Sunnyside for most of 2017.

This doesn't speed up deliveries, but it does ease the pressure on the fleet over the next 12 months. That's a lot fewer streetcars required. If production does speed up, we will see plenty of CLRV's getting retired by spring.
