Richmond Hill Y8700 | 94m | 30s | Metroview

This is the wrong property. Your link has this rendering for 625 Yonge St in Toronto, not 8700 Yonge St in Richmond Hill. That explains the massive increase in height.

Has this project been cancelled? I have not heard anything
It's still among Metroview's Coming Soon developments at the link above. Buildings often take a few years to get through the planning process, especially ones that are as tall as this, and in this case, that'll be compounded by the fact of this being miles taller than anything nearby. In the absence of news a year later, it's probably too early to be concerned about it being cancelled, and not that much reason to bump this thread. People who do know what's going on will typically add a post to say something is cancelled if it is..

The rendering up above looks like in the future they're going to eat up some of the residential area to build low-to-mid rise condos beside this development. Maybe that's why they can developed this building at that height.
The adjacent houses to this project are to remain as per the strategic plan. This development/developer has no consideration when it comes to transition which is what the plan outlines with 15 storeys for this area as per the rest of Yonge on the west side.
