Woodbridge Square Redevelopment: a proposed multi-phased, mixed-use redevelopment of Woodbridge Square with towers ranging from 12 to 57 storeys designed by Turner Fleischer Architects for Morguard and Dev-West Properties Inc. on the southwest corner of Highway 7 and Weston Road in Vaughan's Woodbridge area.

So there are now grand development plans for the North-East, South-East and now South-West areas of Weston and HWY 7.

I wonder which development will actually break ground first.

Interesting! 2.4 kms from VMC station or a 25 min walk. I wonder how rail could be brought closer? At this point something along the 407 seems increasingly feasible.

Why should the City consider investing in some billion-dollar-plus extension(?) just because Morguard, the Muzzo's, and RioCan want to increase the paper value of their strip malls? If it matters to them, they can pay for it.

There's an absolute max of 16,000 ppl (~8,000 units) in the Weston/7 area until they figure out servicing in the area, the market is really bad in Vaughan, so much development by VMC. I wonder if even quarter of the proposed development will move forward in my lifetime or is it simply an upzoning exercise so the owners can borrow more against their properties

Look across the street. They just refaced all the plazas and opened a new Longos. Does that make it feel like they will be braking ground anytime soon?
