Toronto Wellesley on the Park | 194.15m | 60s | Lanterra | KPMB

Today: slight change in floor plate on the 21st floor (notice the kink on the topmost floor, also visible in Koops65’ s picture). From the renderings, it looks like this shift will be repeated on the 41st floor. A very subtle way of breaking up the monotony of a 60-story tower

I get the feeling this is going to be a tower that is photographed quite often! It's turning out great so far so I can see why.

I’m one of the few who finds this tower disappointing. I know that renderings aren’t to be take entirely at face value, however, when you see curved glass depicted in them (generally speaking), one would expect that to come to fruition. I was anticipating seeing some supple curves (the same letdown has occurred with respect to Massey Tower), but the corners of the building are looking quite clunky with the standard, straight window panes. The window wall and spandrel also look cheap and inelegant. If you’re going to propose rounded corners, then don’t cut corners; so to speak.

Today.

So will another tower go to the east of this one abutting Yonge? Looks like they just left enough space.

Doubt it, due to heritage buildings and space required between tall buildings. Also the 75 (70?) degree angular plane for Yonge st side of buildings might be in effect here, although I can’t recall if that goes south of Wellesley or not.

More glazing on the ground level.
