I honestly hope this project will be approved without the heights of the twin towers being reduced! This and One Yonge are my favourite proposals! (for the obvious reason)

I'm sorry, I'm really confused about this project. Has the whole thing been scrapped, or just the casino and hotel component?
Does the city want to shrink the twin towers like they do for every proposal?

According to Adam Vaughan, Oxford is moving ahead with everything EXCEPT the casino component. The application is still active at City Hall.

I ask this question genuinely, has the City sought to reduce the height of any recent office project?

no, they are generally very happy to give it to office buildings. Mind you there haven't been any really large office building proposals up until a few weeks ago.

I really hope the twin towers are not shrunk. Toronto is really due for some supertalls.
I can't think of any reason why the city would shrink the buildings, but they always come up with some reason every time something new and innovative comes along...

Is this really that bad? Your view of a bunch of slightly boring old skyscrapers will be filled by these two new interesting ones.

Blocking the view from the CN Tower should be the least of our concerns when building this city. If the view from CN is blocked, well that's their own issue to fix.

Exactly. The owners of the CN Tower have no more rights than anyone else. You can't try to prevent the construction of a new building simply because it will block the view from your apartement.

Anyways, if it is built the CN Tower and Oxford Towers could create a new edge walk! Now THAT would be scary!
