Toronto U of T: Woodsworth College Expansion | 33m | 6s | U of T | Kongats

Sigh, this @AlbertC fellow is giving me UT stuff to do, even on a slow news day. Good thing I was up from 2-4am and got most of my morning work done then, and only have to choose which emails to ignore between now and Noon.

So this one is still in the permit review process, but it is active.

There are appear to still be 2 open files:

The college seems to be expecting construction to start in March 2024. Some activities are being moved online for the winter term, though they are still planning to use the classrooms in the Northern end of the building.

The last couple of weeks have finally seen some movement on this project, it seems. Classes were moved from the classrooms in the Northern part of the building to other locations in the second week of the term. Workers have been busy covering up and protecting windows and such of the existing structure.
I haven't yet seen any demolition or anything like that.

It appears they've had the permits since 2023:

However, revisions were issued in March of this year:

...if they could translate the cladding that way to reality, that will be a real treat, IMO.

I don't really like the look of the renderings. It doesn't really fit in with the college like the pieces it is replacing. Weird mish mash.
Looks like in one of those renderings that the college will be getting its own library.

Demolition has begun.

I can't quite tell... did they finally tear down the carriage house that had been incorporated into the previous structure?
