Are there any plans for architectural lighting? This landmark should be lit up at night.
I'm unsure about exterior lighting, but as this will house student studio space 80% of the interior lights (including the 'bunny ears' over the heritage facade) will be on 24/7 from September-May.

The Daniels Faculty twitter account has some photos of some finished spaces. I wish I had this space back when I was in architecture at UofT!! It'll be open for Doors Open both days so everyone who can should check it out! I no longer live in Toronto so I'm hoping someone will be able to take more photos.

Are there any plans to clean the brickwork? I know when they did that with Victoria College some years back, it was a revelation.

They have already cleaned the brickwork - variations in colour of the buff coloured bricks was extenuated by the contrast of the photo.

Yup, the brick is night and day compared with what it was beforehand.

Thank you Google Street View.

Anyway, the decision was made here to not over-clean the brick and destroy its surface. It still has a bit of a patina, but the bricks are still in good shape.

I can't say I'm a fan of the end result of the facade cleanup. It still looks discoloured. I prefer restorations that reveal what the building looked like on the first day of completion. Also, copper trim instead of whatever silver metal was used for eavestrophs and flashing would have better complimented the yellow brick facade. It needs architectural lighting, too. The exterior heritage restoration is one of the more disappointing major restoration projects in recent memory.

I suppose this is the difference between preservation and conservation.
