No sign of any construction yet. I suspect fundraising may be proceeding more slowly than expected, although I'm sure the alumni will pony up the funds eventually.

Hal Jackman just donated $11 million to the expansion making it the Jackman law building. Supposed to start next summer.

It'll be a shame if they rip out all of those trees... the grounds around the law building are some of the most beautiful at U of T. The spring flowers are especially nice over there.

Strange for me to see this coming down because I remember watching it go up in 1990-91 -- not that long ago. In fact, this building's brief life must hold some kind of U of T record: it lasted only 16 years before it was deemed expendable. I know the law school has grown, but it probably would have survived if it had any kind of distinction.
Very similar story to what happened with ROM at the other end of Philosopher's Walk a few years ago: an extremely utilitarian extension designed in Eighties (both coincidentally covered in that hideous precast with the embedded aggregate) replaced by a statement building. Moral of the story: do it right the first time or don't bother at all.

My understanding is that it is a partial, not complete reconstruction. I wonder if that is still the case.
