Toronto Treviso Condos | 91.13m | 24s | Lanterra | P + S / IBI

I'm not exactly expecting an L Tower at Dufferin & Lawrence, and I like the mix of colour for the area. But the overall scale, clunky podium and soul-sucking columns at street-level are straight out of the Peel Condo Guide circa 2002.

How are those "soul-sucking" columns any worse than some of the glass wall podiums in downtown?

I don't think this looks bad at all to be honest.

If this is what you were complaining about, then I agree. But at least none of it is facing the street.

The trick wth colonnaded areas is that they have to be lit appropriately, and we typically do a terrible job with that here. If they get the lighting right, those sheltered walkways won't be soul-sucking at all.

On the brightside, it'll look like it's been there since 2002. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

There's something neat about instant neighbourhoods that feel like it's been there for a while. Sort of like time-travel, or an alternate universe.

So what are the latest details here? What retail is going in the main floor? The site is huge (I pass by it frequently).

Dufferin is going to be way different soon. I'm not sure if it's a real positive though. So much traffic.

Thanks for the pics, happy to see a Gelato place here. There aren't any good Gelato places in this hood that I know of so that's nice to see.

Zaza's good: they have a location in Bloor West Village that I'm happy to go to!

Not even La Paloma in Yorkdale?

It would be interesting if Lawrence and Dufferin had something like Papa John's, Little Caesars, or Sbarro (note that those three American pizza parlours all have locations in Toronto, though they are not as numerous; Pizza Hut is at Eglinton and Dufferin and at Lawrence and Black Creek, while Domino's is at Marlee near Glencairn). An independent pizza parlour would be better.

The California Sandwiches at Castlefield and Dufferin has some great gelato.

Wow, MacDonalds,, Pizza Hut,e ct. Buy Lawrence and Dufferin will be rocking soon. Those balconies (the non-railign balconies9 looks like parking levels. Awful, just awful

That condo complex has a hidden amenity: easy access to many PokéStops (three are accessible from one spot in the parkette just south of Columbus Centre) and four Pokémon Gyms with a short walking distance:

Note that PokéStops are blue and Gyms are red; the neighbourhood otherwise has a lack of PokéStops and Gyms within a short walking distance.

Yes, downtown has chock full of PokéStops, but the suburbs (even the inner suburbs) have a lack of them. As a result, I frequent the area around the condos for Pokémon Go.
