The new tower seems to be terribly close to the 'original' building - I hope buyers there looked carefully at the plans for the whole site and are not surprised by their loss of light and view!

May I point out how difficult it is navigating the area by foot, if you'd like to take a stroll on the newly built water's edge promenade south of the buildings. First, you need to navigate through the parking lot at the foot of Yonge st, then you hit the WALL right before redpath, then you need to backtrack and find your way back to Queens Quay.

I believe the parking lot becomes a parkette once Pier 27 is built out. But yeah, there's no getting around the Redpath wall; I expect this stretch of the promenade will never be well used, except by residents here.

That wall really needs to be leveraged for outdoor movies or at least a mural, it might help drive traffic to this stretch, beyond the residents emptying out their dogs by the water (what it is used for now...).

As was stated previously, the parking lot will go away and become a park once the tower is complete and the walkway will be extended along the water all the way to yonge.

Yes, I'm well aware of this fact. Do we know who is responsible for building this park? Is it cityzen or the city? If it's the city, I fear it will take a long time to get done.

Waterfront Toronto will be responsible for knitting it into their greater area public realm plan. Expect a design competition announcement sometime in the next year or two.

Great, but when they actually release the construction tender, it will most definitely be above the funding envelope, and then once they dilute the winning design it will be basically a grass patch. Look at what happened with Clay Aiken park. The bids came above their estimate, and who knows when and if a park is actually built.

Just walked by the area today and decided to check out the distance between the existing pier 27 building and the new tower - can confirm that it is VERY narrow.

The width between the two side is about 2.5 lane driveway (just enough to sqeeze two cars plus a pretty narrow sidewalk on both sides)
