I mean it could be argued that new buildings fit in well and that's great or they don't fit in and still look great...but Time and Space is neither of those.
The neighbourhood has many condos that fit in with, and make up the existing built form; so your statement doesn't really make any sense at all to me. 222 The Esplanade, 65 Scadding, 138 Princess, 160 Frederick, 135 George, and 109 Front St E are just a few examples of condos within a couple blocks, which are appropriately scaled for the neighbourhood.
Personally i think this building is a well executed project for the area. I don’t find it in anyway overwhelming, it meets the street in a very uniform street wall that fits with rest of the area. The facade design does a lot to break up the bulk of the building and make it look diverse and interesting.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess, because one of the things I like about it is the fact it's not a 150 meter slender table top building like all the other ones. It gives the area a bit of variety. Again, I know I'm of the very minority here, but I just think some of the criticism about this project is a little harsh and unfair.
I will say the name is ridiculous...lol.Personally i think this building is a well executed project for the area. I wouldn’t go as far to say that this building is the next benchmark for architectural design, but I would place this project in my top 10 more favorite condos in Toronto.
But like many master pieces, it sometimes is ahead of the time for the taste of the masses. But there are many like me who really can appreciate it.
I mean you might be on to something if we where all living in Burlington...Personally i think this building is a well executed project for the area. Actually, I doubt it would look any better in Burlington. The problem of T&S is not only that it does not fit into the neighbourhood it has joined, it is that it is also a mess of spandrel and is clearly not built with much care or thought.I mean you might be on to something if we where all living in Burlington...
You're killing me, man.Tried to get a half decent shot last night while passing this place, looks okay at first glance.

But the slightest double take and you begin to see the uneven masonry, poorly installed seams of the facade and general lack of cohesion in design patterns.

Take for instance the difference in alignment of balconies with these cosmetic panels.

They are not merely poorly constructed, missed opportunities. They are overdesigns void of thought.
Lol. While I always appreciate the privilege of having one of my contributions used for a year-end poll or an article or otherwise, I will try to redeem myself and share that despite my camerawork on this one I am strongly leaning towards Westport in this height category, which seems to have the best overall design concept as well as exterior fit and finish — though The Thornhill is a relatively smart looking addition as well.20-29 storey category for 2024 year end poll
@DSC Help me out!
This is the best angle. We can blame @Lachlan Holmes if this wins.
