Toronto The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

I know this is off topic but I would like to see the CN tower concrete mast clad in something colourful... or even black with bright coloured details. The pods are great as they are.
You're not thinking candy cane or barber pole are you? :)

The Well, with all the cranes now gone. And what is left of our formerly unobstructed view of the CN Tower....

This is so sad! I loved this project until now. Technically speaking, the CN Tower not a “beautiful building” up close. But it’s presence almost everywhere in downtown made it a compelling landmark trully magnificent. These buildings (Well Towers)aren’t worth the view of the CN tower. And with more and more tall building near the CN Tower, how can the CN tower stay a landmark? For me it make it even more important to build a rail deck park to enjoy the view of the CN Tower. Hope the Well will be worth it!

No it's not sad at all. Walk 20 feet in another direction and you'll see it just fine.

Hope your right because I love the feeling of the CN Tower. With all the news buildings including The Well I hope we will not lose that feeling piece by piece. Cannot wait to see The Well completed. I really like the project overall and see the construction progress in pictures.

I mean we're losing a few views of the Tower with some of the new buildings going up, but like I say, generally speaking you walk 50 feet in another direction (I was exaggerating with 20) and you'll see it.

…and with that reminder, this tangent is done. Any other CN Tower talk needs to be taken to the the CN Tower thread. Any following posts about it in this thread will be deleted.

Id take the green curved glass over grey or blue flat glass any day of the week.

I dont get the complaining over it.

The greening of the glass is depending on how refined it is to my understanding. That is, the less refined, the greener it is. Since it wasn't represented in the final renderings as such, it hints at value engineering'itus here. Plus it rarely looks good when they do that. Hence, people complain over it...

I think that a project like this was way overdue in Toronto, I think it's amazing. Finally another pedestrian destination that will mostly feel open to the elements, generous sidewalks on Wellington and shared space under some trees and planters. A place where you can forget about cars and traffic (even those who will drive to The Well, lol) watch people relax and enjoy themselves. I think this location will be an absolute smash hit with locals, tourists and visitors to ball games and such. Can't wait till it opens.

As an aside, I noticed the big yellow Concorde pedestrian bridge has been primed? Or is it just the photo's dulling it down?

It will be interesting to see which development ends up being cooler. MV or The well. I am quite unimpressed by the architecture of this project either than the base of the buildings, despite a lot of praise. I find it embarrassing to look at. I don't understand the excitement.
