how long are these strikes going to last?
Up to 6 weeks from the strike date if there is not a settlement reached before then. And a front page Explainer about that...

Edit/Update: Seems some settlements are a foot in the forming department. So the strikes should be wrapping up and work will start to pick up on Tuesday if not sooner, from what I gather. .

It almost feels like they're building a second Eaton Centre in terms of the diversity of uses, the architectural quality and the general sense of ambition to the project, though without the same emphasis on fashion retail.
They did refer to it as ‘the Eaton Centre of the west’ in its early days, so that’s definitely what they were hoping for it to be competing with.

Great observation! For me this is more of a Food/Restaurant and Health, and life style focused with the chosen vendors vs. fashion retail

Park is nice. Landscaping needs to mature though. On a side note, it seems like nearly every other house on Draper is getting a gut renovation job including the two that flank the park, which have just received nearly identical rear additions that wall in the park in a nice, intimate sort of way. Maybe the old residents had enough of all the development going on around them lol.

A couple questions for anyone in the know:
1) I was under the impression from early renders that as part of the project, the sidewalk would be widened along Wellington St all the way west to Portland, as apparently the parking lots west of Draper St are on leased land. Now the widening seems like it has stopped east of Draper St. and there is no indication it will actually continue west. Perhaps it was never going to be extended to Portland?
2) Are there any plans to modify Wellington St between Spadina and Portland in conjunction with the completion of The Well? This stretch operates as sort of a wide, laneless speedway at the moment. The redeveloped intersection at Wellington/Portland was a mistake as it's difficult to cross as a pedestrian, and cars seem to have no idea how to handle the triple crosswalk.

Part 2 is a definite Yes. As part of the Bikeway project for Wellington. I posted the slides for this over in the Cycling Infra thread....

Don't have time to look through all the slides, but they may answer part 1 as well.
