Toronto The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

What an astoundingly ugly part of the city. Grey on grey on grey, concrete, soulless glass for miles, asphalt, a jumbled mess of overhead wiring, 2 overpasses, ugly LRT stop, and pretty much 6 lanes of traffic. And this is the view from the waterfront. The only thing that could make it more depressing is grey skies.
I dont mind the streetcar wiring but the beat-up wooden poles and overhead utility wires give that section of the city a frontier town vibe.

"He said he may move RioCan’s corporate headquarters from its spot in midtown Toronto, where it is developing housing near an east-to-west rail line that’s still under construction. Although RioCan has a big presence in midtown Toronto, it will soon be a major player just west of the financial district, where it is working on a mammoth office, residential and retail complex called the Well. Asked if the corporate office could move there, Mr. Gitlin said, “It is tempting.”

Unless they want to tear up 12 year leases with the previously mentioned office tenants "index exchange" "shopify" and others why did he say its tempting?

Looks like they are installing the ground floor glass panels now.
not sure if this is the correct design for the ground floor though: https://cdn.skyrisecities.com/sites/default/files/images/projects/9439/9439-42705.jpeg
