I think it's the base of the tower they're working on in the photos up above! It's set back a little from the podium looking large for now. But as the tower rises above a couple floors etc. It will narrow a little in some areas making the tower more noticeable at that point.

Yep just in time for the TMD to get installed at one bloor west so I was like a little off on where they would be was really hoping that we would see the crane off one bloor west by that point but looks like Pemberton decided to hire more than 10 people to work for them at a time

Are we really hoping for this to move faster though?

Personally they can take their sweet time, because this is probably the best this project will ever look BPD (Before Pemberton Dreck).
