Yes it has been done - here in Toronto.

The Well site reused the north, east, and south shoring that was done for the initial Globe & Mail building that was started to be built at the Front and Spadina corner - before the project got cancelled, and the Globe Mail ended up moving to King Street East instead. The only section of shoring which was not reused was on the west side, it was removed so the garage levels would be contiguous. This is why there are only four levels down where the office tower will be (that is how deep the initial shoring went) compared to the six levels down for the rest of The Well site.
