also a detail that is crazy nice - the corners of the curtain wall are mitred... i don't think normal cladding is done that way

My hunch — based on this rendering — is that the overlapping portion might be transparent, and you’ll see the banding through it. (Or perhaps that’s an optical illusion ).

Nope, that's typical. Corner millions are usually a different, deeper, "mitred" extrusion. Regular 90s happen, too, but they're less popular because you end up with a big pillar in the corner
