Billionaire's Row tower's in NY? I mean this is a very skinny tower

What's wild is that the skinniest (and objectively prettiest) of those 57th St. towers -- the SHoP-designed tower over the old Steinway building -- is 127m taller than One Bloor West (and, at that, is 37m shorter than the tallest tower currently under construction on 57th), and much skinner (its width-to-height ratio is 1:24; the site itself is only 18m wide).

But, of course, the most absurd Billionaire's Row fact is that the penthouse at 220 CPS sold for $327M; makes this project seem almost quaint in comparison (which is obviously totally ridiculous).

The room is on level 85

they have permits for the below grade structure.

That makes sense, as all the demolition work to remove that temporary platform and all the activity for building in that void space below are part of the steps for building the below grade structure. Maybe that whole process was even submitted to the City years ago.

Wonder how long it'll take them to get that part of the site up to grade?

Anyone wanna bet on it? ?

I can get quick recap on exactly what's happening with this? So construction was stopped around New Year for alleged safety violations but the necessary permits have now been issued and they're proceeding as normal?

They were stopped around Christmas as they had been building without a permit.

they got their permit for below grade construction about 2 months ago, only to be stopped again by COVID.

So right now they have permits for below grade but not above. So once the below grade levels are complete they will have to stop work once again until those are issued, provided they haven’t yet been issued by the time that occurs.
