Toronto The Gloucester on Yonge | 147.82m | 44s | Concord Adex | a—A

Nope - the buildings are connected

I'm hoping the Yonge Street heritage conservation district forces them to take a second look at (i.e. redesign) the podium.

Toronto Council approved the proposal in May. It just has to be ratified at the OMB (and have a signed agreement on the Section 37 spend).

I'm glad this building will be on the east side of Yonge. Will balance the highrises to the west and fill up some empty sky.

Plans have been resubmitted to the city which depicts an updated podium - some of our wishes are reflected in the new design. (Rendering is not updated but it's shown in elevations and plans.) Otherwise the tower has the same appearance as the earlier submission.

Wow thanks modernizt. Just took a look at the plan:
1) The design language on the north side of the podium now carries over to the west side. Hopefully this breaks up the monotony of the glass wall on Yonge st. Though the design looks a tad too busy to me now.

2) Probably old news but there's a proposed underground pedestrian tunnel to Wellesley subway station (yay)

Are you talking about zoning or just permits?

The June documents were submitted to get both Zoning Approval and Site Plan Approval.

The TTC entrance was news to me. Is it really necessary with another entrance on the other side of Dundonald? Isn't that a rather expensive way to get people across a quiet side street?

It was previously posted that Council approved it and it had to be ratified by the OMB. Are you saying they are going through the process again with a new planning application?

No, it's all good, they were just clearing up technicalities.
