Toronto Ten York Street Condos | 224.02m | 65s | Tridel | Wallman

The crown lighting (extreme right among the cluster of tall buildings to the right of the CN Tower) looks fantastic from the top of Hotel X. Wish I had a proper camera for a zoom shot - didn’t anticipate going up there.

It won't make any architectural guidebooks, but Tridel mostly got the execution right. The materials are major step up from their usual mess of spandrel panels or sterile precast concrete.

Are those Tridel signs ever coming down? ?

Possibly not. Depends on what the Declarant (the developer, in this case Tridel) puts into the declaration for the building. The Tridel sign is still in place (last I saw) on the Solaris building in Metrogate - the Condominium Corporation could not have it removed as Tridel's right to have the sign, and the Condominium Corporation obligation to maintain it there was written into the declaration. Suspect it may be the same situation, for better or for worse, at Ten York.

I prefer the night ones myself. As the top looks like some invading alien craft about to land... 😵
