Agreed. Love the tower, but the podium? This stretch of Harbour is finally getting an opportunity to open up and attract some pedestrian engagement with the off-ramp coming down (and hopefully a cool park in its place). The podium doesn't respond to that at all. Looks more like a bomb shelter...

Once the ramp is relocated I actually think it will be an interesting contrast....the park, glass all around and then the "bunker". But I agree some more colour would have been appropriate. To compare it to college and gerrard, I like it better than the gerrard side of Bed Bath and Beyond (windows with black-out blinds) but not as much as the yonge side.

The use was designed for a department store...has there been an announcement as to who is taking over the retail space? I think the grocery stores are saturated in this area....so another department store or will they convert this area to commercial (which would demand a change to the exterior)?

I agree, however I feel like that has at least something to do with how the photo was filtered or edited or the light or something. It doesn't always look that grey.

That used to be one of the best views of the skyline but with all the ugly condos which all look the same being built, the view is being destroyed.
