I'm not a big fan of MLS - but I think it's a passable building "except" for the stupid hats they put on top which stand out like a sore thumb.

Maple Leaf Square is a decent complex. The podium has a good metropolitan scale to it and sleek design. The towers are thin and sleek with decent minimalist details like that diagonal line in the balcony glass. The mix of uses--offices, a hotel, bars and retail--is impeccable and nicely reflected in the design of the building.

I drove past this on Saturday and I think it is shaping up to be one of the better buildings in it's neighbourhood. That being said, personally I'm increasingly finding the central waterfront district (not including the public realm at the waters edge) is becoming more and more aesthetically unpleasing to me. I would even say it is becoming one of the ugliest parts of the city. It looks fine from far away but when you get up close it just feels all wrong.

I quite like MLS as well. Solid proportions and a sharp podium. The only project I really detest in Southcore is Infinity.

Took these from a mini van.

the 7 children piled in the back all started crying as G.L. 17 stole all the happiness they had gained from their march break.
