They are taking the east crane down this morning. Are they moving it a little north or changing cranes? I guess we’ll know soon enough.

Underway 'as I write"

Preliminary Draft Traffic Plan for Saturday, October 17.
The two northbound traffic lanes and the the north sidewalk will be closed during the duration of the work on Saturday. We expect based on past experience that the work will take 10 to 12 hours, so therefore completing by 7 pm, approximately.

There will be paid duty Police officers on-site, as well as site staff, to direct traffic and ensure safety.

This is necessary work in order raise and adjust the crane on the eastern tower of the building.

If we receive updates to the traffic plan we will post and circulate the information as soon as we receive it.

It looks like they changed a few vertical sections of the tower crane or they did a quick paint job.

That was probably an expensive unplanned day. At least they had some nice weather.

I bet they are all being a bit more careful about crane safety after the recent crane-collapses; changing out some doubtful sections of crane is undoubtedly cheaper than dealing with a collapsed crane!
