Trust me we could have had a lot worse, have you heard of some of the garbage they have come up with across the border?

Will I miss the ACC name myself, yes I will. Do I think the Scotiabank Arena is a horrible name? No, because I know we could have had a lot worse, just like the ones mentioned above.

It's named after the Bank of Nova Scotia (New Scotland). This place is going to be the Scotty in no time.

Yeah, a lot of people said the same thing when the Corel Centre in Ottawa became Scotiabank Place. Also some people online were inexplicably pushing "the Bank". Until recently some people were still trying to make "The Hangar" happen for the ACC, with pretty low levels of success. Is "the Vault" a thing? I have no idea.

You may be right (although I suspect your prediction was somewhat tongue in cheek). But I find these nickname predictions to be off-the-mark, more often than not. Scotty makes me think of tissues. Or maybe the guy in Star Trek.

But I must admit I am the last one to predict how popular culture will go. So who knows.

Just want to say, perhaps fans will refer to the arena as "Jurassic Park' when the Raptors are playing, or "Maple Leaf Square" when the Leafs are playing and otherwise. Yes they refer to the area outside the arena, but fans should figure it out.

Just call it the bowl of despair. 50 years folks! TML fans have been disappointed for more than 50 years now. I'll just avoid the delusion that things will be different with Tavares. I'm terribly sorry.
