There are back filling the walkway for the Path and that going to cause an issue how it connect to the Roger Centre.
The walkway gets narrow at the entrance to this project as well force people to the street than the plaza.

Among the throngs of tourists today, a group of Australians emerged from the CN tower, using maps on an ipad to find their way around. One asked "What should we do now, the waterfront, or Queen Street?"

I spent some time at Roundhouse Park a month or so ago and the area is really coming together. Between the CN Tower, aquarium, park, roundhouse, Skydome, ACC, Maple Leaf Square, and convention centre, this is becoming one of the major tourist districts of Toronto. The transformation is striking.

What will happen to the parking garage in the background (next to steamwhistle in the picture)?
It will be stuck between 10 york and the waterclub towers. Some green space would be great...

Apparently Harbourfront center was seeking access to this parking garage (200 queens quay) to have access to another source of revenue.
It is currently owned by Public Works and Government Services Canada PWGSC.

Agree mostly. I don't like how it touches the tower, I feel like an enveloping addition is a bit sacrilege. Although perhaps the same could be said about the Edgewalk. I think the public space out front that we got is pretty good.

Ya, it would have been awesome to have that design as long as the CN Tower were left untouched by it.

Actually I think the enclosure around the base of the CN Tower is the best idea - the street level of the structure has always been a bit of a dog's breakfast, designed for a time when the area is a wasteland, and having it enclosed within a unitary structure as proposed adds far more to the street level experience and ties the whole precinct into the surrounding neighbourhood.

There is no "podium" that would look suitable for the CN Tower. It needs to meet the surface of the earth in a pure, straight-down manner for it to look right, IMO.
I like the way that with the current plaza, people can connect with the base of the tower; no it's not pretty, but it's so important to be able to just walk up and touch the base of the tower.
RE: the current plaza; for all its strengths, the tiny little stickly trees they put into those planters are unforgivable. We need more real, big trees in this city. Ones that are capable of providing shade, among other things.
