Those workers are not the brightest to be making those statements to the media. Whoever noticed the problem with the bolts are nearly certainly one of the liable parties for this accident if they did not report it/do anything about it.

It was reported. They cleared the construction workers and the next step was to be clearing the street when it came down.

Just saw the Ace Hotel thread, and that brick building looks absolutely lovely. Given that this is going to be a decently tall tower, also with some brick elements, I wonder what the likelihood of this one turning out just as nice is going to be.
